Back-End Sales and Affiliate Marketing

If you are an affiliate marketer and you sell other people's products, you should be aware of the difference between making money on the front-end and making money on the back-end.

So what are back-end products?
Back-end products are products or services offered to existing customers, to people who have already bought a (front-end) product. Did you know that more money is made selling existing customers a second, third, fourth etc. product than selling the first product. The reason is simple, people who have already bought from a company once and are satisfied with the product and service and TRUST the company are much more willing to buy again.

Now...what has that to do with you?

Let's just say you are promoting the latest hot product and that this amazing new product pays you 75% on the front end. With an average price of $67 for the latest webmaster tool, you make a whopping $50 on every sale. Looks like a good deal, doesn't it?

And 50 bucks for every sale is not bad at all....BUT

When you promote someone else's product on your website or on your list, you send your most valuable visitors to another company..... the ones who buy!

Your customers are now on SOMEONE ELSE'S list.

How much money will you make on back-end sales?
This person now will follow up, build a strong relationship with THEIR new customers, build trust and bombard 'YOUR' customers with offers for new products. How much money do you make on those back-end sales? Not a penny! So you make $50.00 per customer you send someone else. They email them offer after offer. How much do you make? That's right...nothing, nada, zero!

Now, I don't say this is wrong, not at all...

BUT...I hope this opens your eyes when it comes to the difference of making money and making truckloads of money.

Think about this next time when you are looking for new products to promote on your website or list. Check if the company offer you commissions on back-end sales, instead of being used for a one time fee, to help them grow their lists of happy and I-will-buy-more customers.

AND...imagine what could happen if you have your own product!
