Home > ArticlesHow To Motivate Your Affiliates To Promote Your Products
After you have developed or acquired the rights to a product, you'll need to promote it. One of the most effective ways to do this is to recruit affiliates. Joing an affiliate network will undoubtedly provide you with an ample number of affiliates, but encouraging them to promote the product avidly provides a different problem. One of the most important things you can do is to set your commission rate high. Setting your affiliate commission higher than 60% will attract the best and most dedicated affiliates. Even after you attract several affiliates, you still might not see any sales. This begs the question, "Why aren't they promoting for me?". Well, there are several reasons for this. One of the most contradicting answers is that they are promoting your product, they just aren't doing a very good job. The sad fact is that most affiliate marketers are fly-by-nighters, and give up after only a couple of weeks. Although you may attract affiliates who have great resources and who know how to promote, these are unfortunately few and far between. One of the most effective tools of a successful affiliate marketer is a good list. Most affiliate marketers don't have a list and some don't even know what it is. You may be able to recruit hundreds of affiliates, but only a few will produce a large number of sales. These affiliates will be experienced and have a large list. One of the most misleading statistics is website hits. Even though an affiliate may send a lot of visitors to your offer, sales may be still be low. This is probably because they are buying their hits through traffic exchanges. Large amounts of traffic isn't as good as smaller, targeted amounts who are in the mood to buy. You will, however, attract a small number of affiliates who will make lots of sales and produce a lucrative income for you. You want to keep them happy. There are many ways to do this, but the easiest is to contact them and present them with your product free of charge. You should get to know your successful affiliates and build a relationship with them. Ask them if there is anything you can do to help them promote. You might even want to offer them higher commissions or monetary bonuses if they achieve a certain number of sales. These successful affiliates are going to become your lifeline. You must do whatever you can to keep them promoting to the best of their ability. If you continue to cater them and educate them about promoting your products, their efforts will only get better and your profits will soon begin to snowball. They may even contact other affiliates in their network and get them to promote your product. Great affiliates are like dependable vehicles. If you take good care of them, they'll always get you where you want to go. © Chris Mollo, All rights reserved.
