Internet Business Opportunities — Their BIGGEST Mistake

I have been around the block a few times. I know what makes a business successful. I have had very successful businesses and Internet Marketing is quickly becoming my favorite, its definitely the most fun. Since I have been 'strong armed' into creating this blog to help folks get their home based internet business up and running, "the right way" for the long term, I receive questions everyday.

Most questions are from entrepreneurs wanting to know how to make money online. A question I would like to address from a loyal client which I know will benefit many other viewers is about internet business opportunities. Here's my opinion.

First of all the internet business opportunities (IBO's) offered today give you all the tools you need to run your business, but to be REALLY successful you still need to do more than just sign up and let the system work. You need to learn the fundamentals of how to attract customers, drive traffic to your website and deliver valuable support and training. Marketing education is the pillar of any IBO.

Your fees pay for a website, capture pages, opt-in forms, sales pages, auto-responders, marketing tips, listings of advertising services and a back end office management system. Heck there is almost no need for human interaction with your prospective leads. Everything is automated. I do believe in automation but call me old fashioned cause I still like to talk, coach and personally interact with customers.

Therefore IBO's are very attractive to the beginning internet marketer and yes you will learn a lot just by participating. They are turn key operations and most deliver a decent product. Although do your research and beware, some offer recycled information products you can find for free, or software that just isn't top notch.

IBO's can be very lucrative, but what aren't they telling you? What aren't they teaching you, that you need to know in order to really make money? You see if you just promote your IBO as they suggest, you end up with a business that is the exact duplication of your sponsor and everyone else's in the business. Duplication is necessary for your team in some regards, to learn marketing, sales copy, etc. But how do you attract customers if everyone is doing the same thing and every website looks the same and all the copy is identical? Short answer: You Don't!

The key to any business is marketing. Marketing with a flare. The one that gets attention, that gets noticed, attracts customers. You need to take your IBO and stand out from the crowd, you need to be creative, you need to be different. How, you ask? Read the Start-Up Plan Review, but I will give you a hint. What makes people look twice? Something they have never seen before.

Bottom line IBO's can make you a lot of money. Choose one with a decent product and business services, then don't just duplicate failure. Maximize your exposure with creativity. Be you and tell your story, build your character, offer free valuable content and educate yourself to be a successful Internet marketer. You can learn. Its not that hard. Internet business opportunities biggest mistake is that they don't brand you. You are why people want to join your business!
