Internet marketers and webmasters were happy to spend more advertising money on ppc ads than any other forms of online advertising.

It's because ppc advertising if done right, would really provide higher return on investment or ROI.

In fact, Google is earning almost $1 Billion per quarter from their pay per click ads. Ppc advertising is almost the best if not the best advertising platform in online advertising today.

But marketers were starting to worry with the ever increasing cost of pay per click ads. Some advertising keywords will cost as much as $10 per click and some very competitive keywords will cost as much as $30 per click.

Actually, if you are a novice marketer you are likely to lose money on ppc advertising. I think over 50% of ppc advertisers lose money but keep on running their ads until they finally quit.

If you can manage to earn at least 50% profit margin from your ppc ads, then that's very good, considering that most ppc advertisers only earn at most 30% profit margin.

Let's say, if you spend $1,000 on ppc ads and you generate $2,000 in sales then that's very good 50% profit margin. If you spend $1,000 but generate only $1,300 in sales, then that's a typical 30% profit margin and you are still lucky.

Actually, the only ppc advertisers who could stand the ever increasing cost of ppc ads are those big companies. They can spend more ppc money and still happy to break even or get only 10% profit margin.

Small marketers and webmasters are now aggressively looking for good alternative advertising platforms such as media traffic buying, social media ads, blog ads, seo and others.

But still, ppc advertising is the fastest and more effective way to promote your products, services or websites. It will still remain the most used advertising platform today and for years to come.
