Its wise to find out this person's values, their attitude and ethics towards work ,how they treat others and whether they give and get respect. You might be surprised to find that you do not want to be in business with this person regardless of how lucrative the partnership might seem.

Trust is always earned, people might be willing to trust you, but you must first prove to them that you are trustworthy, which takes us back to honesty and integrity. If you are honest with everyone you get the opportunity to promote yourself to, whether a first time customer, a returning customer,or your down-line, they will see you as a person of integrity and as a leader. People will want to join you.

Be straight up and honest , let people know what you say is exactly what you mean, let them have the option of taking it or leaving it ,they will appreciate you for that. Be genuine with your intentions, if you promise to help others , help them with no strings attached. People build network and people helping people is what networking is about.
